Must See Places Of Jamaica

Winifred Beach
Winifred Beach is located between the Blue Lagoon and Boston Bay on the East coast of Portland Jamaica. It is just a mile away from the private beach where Tom Cruise once juggled his bottles in the movie Cocktail (1988). The white sandy beach is easily accessible by vehicles and is also one of the last free beaches in Jamaica. This beach is home to a delightful reef just offshore that is not only perfect for snorkeling, but for its clear, calm, bright-blue water justly popular with locals.

Boston Beach
Boston Beach is a deep crescent of fine white sand protected by an offshore reef. It’s favored by local families on weekends and is popular with surfers because of its large waves. There are restrooms, changing rooms and showers, a snack bar, and shaded picnic tables for eating the peppery jerk chicken, fish and pork sold by vendors along the road. This beach provides a perfect setting for picnicking and tempts you with it’s emerald waters. The water is very inviting for either a swim or a snorkel. It’s a favourite for local family outings and is a safe option if you have kids.

Frenchman’s Cove Beach
Frenchman’s Cove Beach in Port Antonio has been called a slice of paradise and, as we spread out our towels on the bone-white sand, it was easy to see why. On one side of the beach is a little freshwater spring that’s perfect for wading and catching some shade. Tiny fish abound in these green waters, so if something tickles you while you’re in there, don’t panic. The beach itself isn’t very long, but this one is private, so it’s not very crowded. This could be the perfect place to get lost in the sun, without worrying about the kids getting lost.

Shan Shy Beach
Although it’s the closest beach to downtown Port Antonio, Shan Shy Beach is a hidden gem. It is only a few feet from the main road, but it is hardly visible until you pull in the entrance. On the West edge of downtown, this beautiful white sand beach is a favorite with residents. The beach is spacious, with the magnificent colors of Bryan’s Bay reflecting the glory of the sea. The beach area is well kept with glorious smooth sand. There’s a large bar area and dance floor that livens up with music on weekends and holidays and special events
